I developed an interest in politics during the Thatcher years, an experience that left me completely alienated with mainstream perceptions.
After completing university I befriended a self styled rebel and anarcho-syndicalist. Some of his friends ran an anarchist bookshop in Brixton from where I acquired a number of radical books. My first anarchist book was Government Is Violence by Leo Tolstoy. Leo made a positive impression on me because I went on to buy a few more anarchist books.
